Hi Satoshi, > Version 3 of ghostscript. It's supposedly compatible, but it's too > dangerous to overwrite the old one now. > I will replace the old one after the release if this one turns out ok. _NO_ ! Please do Not do this. If you later do mv gs gs2 ; mv gs3 gs I could live with that, but a lot of us do Not want to move further away from PD src, so leave us the option of gs2 Please. > but it is explicitly permitted to distribute this on a CDROM. CD-ROM is not our only constraint, supplying an ftp'd FreeBSD + gs3 to customers is more problematic than FreeBSD + gs2. GS is also used by packages such as hylafax & maybe xv etc, so we will have to be very careful about testing any rename first, Personally I'd prefer we leave thing named gs & gs3 rather than gs & gs2 Julian --- Julian H.
