Basically, it is hanging immediately after this message:

Preloaded elf kernel "kernel.old" at 0xc0392000.
Intel Pentium detected, installing workaround for F00F bug
nulldev: <null device, zero device>

I couldn't even drop into the debugger, because my machine was locked solid.
The next boot message WOULD'VE been:

random: <entropy source>

So, at least I know the hang is occuring at random: <entropy source>.
