I think this was a "quote" from 'Lazarus Long' a character in Robert
Heinlein's book
"Time enough for love"

The two other quotes from Heinlein/Long  which I think are worth living by
are
(1) Everything in excess, moderation is for monks!
(2) A person should be able to do a small bit of everything, specialisation
is for insects
