My ISP runs Apache/Frontpage on 3 of our web servers. All we had to do to get it running was Download Apache, apply the FP patch, (and extensions) and we were up and running. No problems, didn't take much time at all. In comparison I've also setup a IIS server on NT.. I wouldn't touch THAT with a ten foot pole. The installation was click happy, it's just the part about it crashing under even moderate loads. IMHO, Frontpage works better under unix than it does on IIS. =) The machines serve many domains, and rarely ever crash. And when they do it's almost never because of web serving. The machines are all low end pentiums running BSD/OS 3.1 - Jonathan On Mon, 31 Aug 1998, Studded wrote: > Terry Lambert wrote: > > > > Anyone actually doing this? > > > > Any horror stories? > > A good friend/customer of mine who is an ISV for windows told me that > he wouldn't go near that pile of <expletive deleted> with a 10 foot > pole. > > Good luck, > > Doug > -- > *** Chief Operations Officer, DALnet IRC network *** > > At Barry (a small town in south Wales) hidden cameras have had to be > installed to keep watch on the town's CCTV [Closed Circuit Television] > to record acts of vandalism against the CCTV. - Privacy Forum > > To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org > with "unsubscribe freebsd-isp" in the body of the message > To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-isp" in the body of the message
