Your problem is the combination of 2.1.7-R and AHA-2940.  Get either
2.2.1-R or 2.1.7.1-R and you'll be a happy guy!

I'm running 2.2.1-R.  With 2.1.7-R it died every 24-48hrs with drive
light stuck on.  Now its been up for 24 days no headaches!!!
