Hello, I have an NEC Versa 5080X that is unable to resume properly from suspend. On resume, I get my previous screen back (X or console) without the slightest disturbance to the image, but nothing happens. It doesn't respond to keyboard or mouse input and doesn't seem to process resuming tasks (probing pcards, etc.). The weird thing is, I had another of the exact same machine that resumed perfectly. I've compared BIOS versions, firmware, etc. and they're all the same. One works, the other doesn't. So, I figured, no problem, I'll swap the guts with the other one (the first one had a bad display backlight). No dice - the parts from the old machine, after transplant, won't resume either. I am baffled. After rebooting, I see nothing in 'messages' from after I suspended. Not just nothing interesting...nothing at all. So, I'm hoping somebody on this list has a guess. It's a relatively old machine (Pentium MMX 233) - could it just be somewhat broken WRT apm or suspend? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. -Josh -------- In God we trust...everything else we use X.509 --------- Joshua Malone, Systems Administrator Phone: 434-245-5300 x119 Tovaris: The Digital Identity Company Fax: 434-245-5301 www.tovaris.com jmalone@tovaris.com To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-mobile" in the body of the message
