Subject: Which -current snapshot is good to install?

I have a box with an old 3.0-current distribution on it and want to move it to
4.0-current, but the upgrade path looks daunting, so I thought that I would
just reinstall (besides, I could use the practice). I grabbed the
4.0-19990418-current/floppies files, but after a visual conf and removing
unused drivers, then probbing the busses, it panics with an invalid
page fault (I will report this more in depth later).

So, what would be the safest snapshot to install with?

thanks
-jay
