Good news ... make -k buildworld completed make installworld got a good way through but hit stop errors The `ps' command started working again With my fingers crossed, I started make buildworld It just finished with no errors!!! (boy am I relieved!) I'm now doing the installworld ... I've already had some good signs, `ps' started working again after the first `installworld' so this is looking very hopeful! I guess the overall lesson is that upgrading a system should always be taken very seriously, no matter how easy the `make world' target makes it seem! Thanks to all who gave suggestions over the past day. -Bill Kent Stewart wrote: > > > Anyway, just reporting "no errors" here with a fresh tree. > > > > Well, that's good news, it means I've botched something. It is a small Daemon wearing sneakers. It is normally found on Internet servers and powerful desktops, and moves very quickly. A kill of this poweful creature is enough to tick off any sysadmin. It is highly magical, having the power to serve. It resists DoS and SYN flood attacks. Nothing is known about its attack.
