I'm using a Orinoco Silver 802.11b pcmcia card in a Thinkpad s30 (Japanese model). I'm installing FreeBSD 5.0. If I boot with the card already in, it gets recognized as wi0. When I ifconfig, I see the card settings (ssid, etc.). When I ifconfig with arguments to turn the link on, however, I immediately get wi0: watchdog timeout Then the system gets very sluggish and after a few seconds, it hangs. I tried building the OLDCARD kernel, but it wouldn't boot. I can't run the 4.x series on this machine (won't boot - looks like it just loses the console for some reason). I'm going to try tweaking the kernel config a little, but any advice on how to fix this is much appreciated. -Oly
