With the added compound section handling, do you think we could do without the glob for man pages? I've received a number of complaints about not being able to read just "foo.x" when "foo.xc" exists and "man x foo" is requested. All that really needs to be done for this to make sense to to be sure that no pages are installed with section names longer than the number with the optional extra character, and I think this is already the case.
