I have now discovered that if I remove 1/0/0 from my /boot/loader.conf, the
boot still stops after the same line 
ppt part 0xf000-0xf0ff mem
0xe0000000-0xefffffff,0xf0000000-0xf01fffff,0xf6000000-0xf68fffff irq 54 at
device 0.0 on pci10
