I have an update of a draft RFC, not an already passed standards track document. If you want, I can bang it into shape. The original stuff was by someone else, who wanted to change the face of logging. That's just not going to happen, and they were kind of mistaken to try and get away from syslog, and they didn't provide real state information (both of which I don't do).
