In the same vein I digged out a tiny comm porgram (which I had
working in ol' SCO days), named xcomm. I hacked it to work under
FreeBSD (termios ioctls).

It's not as fancy (menues) as minicomm but at least it can dial
and does XMODEM downloads in conjunction with sz/sx. 

If someone wants to continue hacking on it I can make it available.
It's tiny, so when I'm in the office later today I can
uuappend it to a mail reply.
