I dunno how Linux handles partitioning e.g. on the Alpha. >From the little I've played with it it seems to put an MBR on the disk :-) This isn't so silly because so does NT :-) The PC way of sharing disks has become something of a cross-platform standard where a Microsoft OS is available for that platform.
