I have one dual box that has been crashing with -stable that is running samba. Given my limited time these days I haven't even tried to figure out what is going on, I just disabled SMP and it stopped crashing. Given I do not really need the CPU on the box that has been "good enough for now". With the luck I've had with -stable over the last few weeks my -stable machines are going to be -current soon as it appears to a lot more stable than -stable.
