Completely headless machine, only direct IO to the hardware is the LOM/console port. Right before I installed FreeBSD I did install a sparc 64 port of Debian on it. X ran through vnc, but had a minor issue where some of the menus and title bars of windows under gnome were black. I did not choose to troubleshoot that install since other system processes were crashing and it was not stable. FreeBSD seems very solid running on Sparc hardware so far. This Netra unit was our firewall running Solaris and Gauntlet for a long time. I am just trying to keep a good RISC system out of the dumpster by giving it a nice home and OS to run.
