I de-installed my perl5 and just left it that way. Then I tried just doing pkg intall on p5-Net-IDN-Encode. Now, guess which version of perl5 the pkg system decided to automagically install along with p5-Net-IDN-Encode. per5-5.30.0 *Something* is really bananas here.
