If you're seeing vlc start up (a window appears), and then coring, it's probably caused by missing XVideo support. I've noticed that a lot of cards don't support XVideo in 4.1.0. For example, XVideo appears to be supported only in newer ATI video cards like the Radeon. Most ATI cards don't support XVideo and can't be used with vlc to view DVDs. This includes all cards that use the "ati" driver; ATI cards that use the "r128" or "radeon" drivers are OK (I think). [ My laptop has an ATI Rage Mobility-P chip, which is only supported by the "ati" driver. I can't use vlc. ;-( ] -- Darryl Okahata darrylo@soco.agilent.com DISCLAIMER: this message is the author's personal opinion and does not constitute the support, opinion, or policy of Agilent Technologies, or of the little green men that have been following him all day.
