If you have a single router connected to the interior LAN and the multiple exterior routes, no. You can run OSPF on the router, everyone else uses the router as their default gateway and doesn't need any other routes. If you have two routers on your LAN, then yes, every host will need to run some sort of routing protocol. You may be able to run gated on the routers and something simpler, like routed, on the hosts, but once you've configured gated you might as well just share that configuration among all the hosts. -- "Where am I, and what am I doing in this handbasket?"
