I would suggest that FreeBSD sources and ports are precisely the wrong
place to show off l33t ski11z - the priority for committed code should
be maintainability rather than cleverness[*] because other people need
to understand and possibly maintain the code.

[*] Code in the core of a critical path may be an exception as long as
    the cleverness is adequately documented.
