Matt, I had trouble with TX cards in the 2 machines and a box of SMC TX cards I tried with 4.1.1, they all work fine with 4.2. I also found in my search to find the cure that others had the same problem. Also in the future please post questions to freebsd-questions instead of the newbies mailing list.
