Well, on a generic stance here, ISA is 8.33 MHz while PCI is 33 MHz (for most applications, there does exist a 66 MHz implementation). ISA is either 8 or 16 bits wide, while PCI is 32 bits wide (for most applications, there does exist a 64 bit wide PCI). Basically, ISA might be considered a nice lazy backroad...
