Thank you Greg for for the help.. I expressed myself rather badly - what I should have said was I looked at LINT for guidance as to how I should amend generic!!! So OK - it looks as though I have read it correctly. The first time I now recollect I failed to comment out the I386 I486 lines so I guess that was what caused the failure!!
