I was talking to an Intel guy the other day...  hmm...  was it the
82559 that was a sort of NIC management interface for VLAN stuff...

Intel's also providing Linux drivers for these new 'smart' NICs with
OpenSource licensing.  The guy I spoke to said FreeBSD drivers aren't
officially planned, but he said it'd be easy to port (he used to work 
for a FreeBSD-based ISP and is familiar with the OS).

Isn't technology amazing...  ;)
