Doug,
I can't really think of a more appropriate list for this kind of question
than the freebsd-isp list, please let me know if there is one, however...
From the freebsd mail list description:
freebsd-isp Issues for Internet Service Providers using FreeBSD
and if this isn't an issue very related to isp's, I don't know what is.
I guess the to-the-point question that I have is, is it a requirement to
have proper reverse resolution for nameservers?
I know that many mail servers will reject mail if it is coming from a system
that doesn't have proper forward and reverse resolution. Is this also an
issue with name servers?
Thanks again for your help.

Sorry to say, this topic isn't really appropriate for this list.
You need to have a nice long talk with your registrar. While you're at it,
can you suggest that they supply a port 43 whois server? :)
Good luck.
