Do you mean it "crashes" in the sense that the X server aborts?

I had this problem when compiling with clang, but it was sufficient to just
address the two warning messages (with the suggested fixes) emitted during
compilation of xf86-video-ati (see attached patch).  I don't know if this i=
s a
programming error or a clang optimization error, though.

(And where did users report this kind of breakage in the experimental branc=
h?)
