It's been about a year now since I moved my last alpha from FreeBSD to VMS. I'm writing to express my gratitude and admiration to all those who made FreeBSD alpha port a reality and a success. I want once again to thank all those who answered my alpha questions, provided solutions, shared tips and advice. It's been a very enjoyable experience. Now it's time to say goodbye.. I moved my alphas to a VMS cluster. That should keep them useful for several more years. And I moved all my FreeBSD server needs to ia64. Now, I know some of you consider it no less alive than alpha, but we shall see. Being in academia, I'm in a privileged position to take risks. all the best, and see you again.. -- Anton Shterenlikht Room 2.6, Queen's Building Mech Eng Dept Bristol University University Walk, Bristol BS8 1TR, UK Tel: +44 (0)117 331 5944 Fax: +44 (0)117 929 4423
