That *is* the Xeon's speed, in many ways.  The cache is [don't flame me if
I'm wrong, please...but the truth is OK ;-)] closer to the PPC 750's
backside cache than it is normal level 2, so it's a lot quicker, and it has
more of it.  What I've seen of the PIII, both the regular and Xeon, is that
it's a nice chip...*if* you put the right OS on it.
