I think, generally, that the attitude is that running x-windows
on a webserver is a waste of CPU cycles/RAM.  However, if
top performance isn't an issue, and you want to use the machine
for other purposes as well - in general, for the purpose that
you describe, I doubt you'll have any problems.

I think you'll be surprise as to how well that old machine
will do what you want.
