I haven't looked at it. Having just submitted PRs to upstream some of our patches, adding patches to support what upstream just removed makes no sense. Resurrecting the previous port makes a lot more sense than spending time that could be spent elsewhere to support a FreeBSD version that will EOL at the end of this month.
