I have a Dell Inspiron 5000e with the 1600x1200 display. cardbus works in
current with a hack, pccard works fine, sound works fine, apm doesn't work. (I
may get around to fixing that someday though.) acpi currently doesn't work on
it either. X works in 1600x1200, but it takes some work. I haven't tried the
3.3.6 X bits that come with 4.2, which may work fine. However, X 4.0.1 has a
bug and doesn't work out of the box. I had to use cvsup to grab the X sources
out of the tree and use that to compile an X server. AccelX's server will work
fine on the 5000e though, and even supports using an external monitor as a
dual-head, etc. I like it fine, though I mainly wanted it for the screen. :)
