Works now here too. As Sean Kelly said: The runnit script tries
to be overintelligent about the settings and fails.
Unsetting CLASSPATH helped.

BTW, do you remember? We were in contact some time ago, may be 12-13 years
when your father had a visit to EXAPT/Aachen.

It was about some knowledge based system on NC machine tooling or 
something IIRC.
