I had the same card. I went to ebay and picked up and intel 2200BG mini-pci card for $15.00. Swapped out the old card myself.

iwi0@pci2:3:0:  class=0x028000 card=0x27218086 chip=0x42208086 rev=0x05 hdr=0x00
    vendor   = 'Intel Corporation'
    device   = 'PRO/Wireless 2200BG Network Connection'
    class    = network

Works great! wpa_supplicant works without a hitch as well. I know this doesn't help you with your card, but the is a cheep alternative
