Greetings, I'm seeing some major CPU usage from talk. Here's the 'top' output for two users who have telneted in to a P50 box running 2.0.5-RELEASE: PID USERNAME PRI NICE SIZE RES STATE TIME WCPU CPU COMMAND 4999 slatera 93 0 236K 636K run 3:26 47.65% 47.65% talk 4983 holmesa 94 0 236K 636K run 5:28 46.58% 46.58% talk Here's the PS output. They're talking to each other... USER PID %CPU %MEM VSZ RSS TT STAT STARTED TIME COMMAND slatera 4999 60.9 2.1 236 636 p1- R 2:31PM 4:13.48 /usr/bin/talk holmesa holmesa 4983 61.1 2.1 236 636 p0- R 2:31PM 6:15.69 /usr/bin/talk slatera Does anyone have any idea why there would be some much CPU usage? thanks, --- ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Charles Owens Email: owensc@enc.edu "I read somewhere to learn is to Information Technology Services remember... and I've learned that Eastern Nazarene College we've all forgot..." - King's X -------------------------------------------------------------------------
