I am not too familiar with audio drivers, so I'm hoping you guys can answer this easily and save me a trip through the code... I also don't need a very detailed answer... Generally, how is data captured or received from the card? Is it all raw sample data and are the drivers responsible for converting among file/compression formats or is any of this done at the hardware level? Also, does this vary among soundcards? (Specifically, is there a difference in the way this is handled b/w a SB16 and a GUS?) Thanks, -j ___________________________________________________________________ Jan Martin Borgersen borg@techie.com http://www.cs.unc.edu/~borgerse
