I've updated the sysctl.conf(5) man page in -CURRENT to exclude the copmat.linux example sysctls, and added a BUGS entry indicating that the utility of sysctl.conf is limited for sysctl's introduced by modules that may not be loaded when sysctl.conf is processed. We probably need a better general purpose solution, but this should at least prevent people from shooting themselves in the feet. Assuming no substantial objections, I'll MFC in a couple of days so that the changes are present in the release.
