When it comes to the ISA code, I don't think that anyone will fault you for cleaning up that mess and producing something that is much better albeit not backward compatible. I don't think that FreeBSD is at the point where we can make any guarantees that our development branch will be 100% backwards compatible with prior releases if we want to make forward progress. -- Justin T.
