It's for the same reason there are no type=(!dir) files in any of the mtree 
files -- ignorance of mtree.  It should work on every branch of FreeBSD 
already, to specify type=link.  Works for me, at least.  I modified plist so 
that when the mtrees actually gain that information, it will work again 
(that is, not list @dirrm for those symlinks); I was also ignorant to what 
mtree could do, because there were no examples of it being done!
