I have an new Asus m2v motherboard and I have sound working with the snd_hda driver.
The manual reports ALC660 as audio codec, but I didn't find it in snd_hda(4) man page and dmesg report it as "Unknown".
I hope this "success report" could be useful...
Feel free to ask any other info or test you need.
