The problem with the HP DL380G9 is another issue - it provides incorrect
information about serial console redirection in its UEFI variables. See BugID

I have four DL380G9 servers with that issue :-)

Workaround:
Hit 3 (enter command line) at the FreeBSD boot loader screen, then enter:

set hw.uart.console="db:8,dt:ns8250,io:0x2f8,pa:none,br=115200,xo=0"
menu + boot

Then when you are up and running, put that setting into /boot/loader.conf for
next time...
