Over the years I've seen it happen due to graphics drivers, compositor and GUI toolkit interop (e.g., Flash plugin). While not a solution running Firefox under a Wayland compositor (e.g., sway) with MOZ_ENABLE_WAYLAND=3D1 in environ(7) should avoid X11 errors like BadDrawable. Anyway, this looks like an issue with your environment rather than Firefox.
