did you go into DOS and make sure you are using two DMA channels (1 and 3)
and the IRQ 11 works without error? Installing the DOS code will let
you set/test these settings.

you have VoxWare Sound Driver:3.0-beta-950506. I would suggest you 
get the newer sound driver code if you plan on using vat 4.x.
I am using 3.5-alpha7-951119 and I am sure there is even newer code on
ftp://rah.star-gate.com
