Current means the actual archive data, and everytime that someone makes a commit to the archive, the data changes. I've never seen a whole day go by without a commit of some kind; sometimes every few minutes. You make a choice as to how much resources you want to put into recompiling, and watch the -commit messages for the really important ones, so you can update those especially. > > Or will it be announced whenever there is a change? In light of the above, well, this is kinda funny ... on the other hand, you could consider the commit mail as change announcements. Don't run current unless you're willing to stay up with the commit mail, because reading that is _critical_ to staying current. > > Thanks :) > > > Andrew Specht | System > Administrator > E-mail: andrew@iaccess.com.au | Internet Access Australia > Internet: http://www.iaccess.com.au | Melbourne, Australia > > > To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org > with "unsubscribe freebsd-current" in the body of the message > > ----------------------------+----------------------------------------------- Chuck Robey | Interests include any kind of voice or data chuckr@glue.umd.edu | communications topic, C programming, and Unix. 213 Lakeside Drive Apt T-1 | Greenbelt, MD 20770 | I run Journey2 and picnic (FreeBSD-current) (301) 220-2114 | and jaunt (NetBSD). ----------------------------+----------------------------------------------- To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-current" in the body of the message
