There was a bug in the option parsing for loaded kernels that was fixed on the i386; I expect that it still exists on the alpha. I am still struggling to get an Alpha test box up and going (more a case of lack of time than any other problem). > Oh, on the subject of booting: > > It also appears as if when there is a /kernel.GENERIC, and a > /boot/kernel.GENERIC, what actually boots is /kernel. Sounds strange... Kernels are never searched for in /boot; the default kernel search path is /kernel, /kernel.old. -- \\ Sometimes you're ahead, \\ Mike Smith \\ sometimes you're behind. \\ mike@smith.net.au \\ The race is long, and in the \\ msmith@freebsd.org \\ end it's only with yourself. \\ msmith@cdrom.com To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-alpha" in the body of the message
