If I try just after booting

stress -m 1 --vm-bytes 1800M

is more like what I need to cause the
swap-outs. 1700M is too little in that
context.


Also:

Trying a debug kernel got the same results with
only one notice: a vfs_bio.c bufwait vs.
ufs_dirhash.c dirhash lock order reversal that
likely is a well known one.

(I guess the LOR is from writing core files into
/var/crash/ .)
