Folowing this thread, I picked up libc.so.5.2.18 from Redhat, and it turned that message into a bus error. Guess I'll seek out 5.3.12 and give that a whirl. I'd sure like to get that Linux appletviewer running (in the absense of a native FreeBSD version.) By the way, is there any way to do some reasonable diagnosis from core dumps from Linux ELF binaries (assuming they've got debug info, etc)?
