Hello:
I use a fairly standard set of apps (at least I think they are).
Netsaint - proactive monitoring and notification of events
MRTG (RRD) - graphing of usage and other SNMP stuff (temp, cpu load)
snmptrapd - logging SNMP traps to a logfile for PERL parsing
Request Tracker (RT) - for Trouble Tickets
Mailman - for a Maintenance mailing list.
