I had a chance today to set up a network between a win9x machine and my laptop today without an Airport, and found that what actually works is to use -p 0 rather than -p 3. I believe the difference is between "ad hoc" mode (-p 3) and "peer to peer" mode (-p 0). I think this is something that has come up before, so I would suggest that the man page for wicontrol be augmented to add -p 0. I also would like to suggest an EXAMPLES section for this page that will give example start_if.wi0 scripts to set up the BSS and peer-to-peer cases. I'll be happy to do this, though I would probably do better if I could work with a manmeister to get it formatted right. :-) To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-mobile" in the body of the message
