This reminds me of a problem I have with the rc.d script. If the system is running UTC then there is no /etc/localtime file, and the routine that tries to copy everything into the chroot complains. Could you guys work together and come up with a solution to make that conditional on the file's existence? Perhaps with a call to date to see that the system really is running UTC?
