Hi all; I'm setting up an anonymous ftp server for a business application and I am = having some difficulties getting the permissions to work out like I want. = freebsd-security seemed to be the best place, but if there is a better = choice, someone email me and I'll change tack. I have a system configured with a user account (johndoe for the sake of = conversation) who is in the operator group. The server accepts anonymous = ftp connections to allow clients to upload files. Issue number one is I = would like that directory to be blind, ie: allow upload without allowing = the anonymous users to browse the directory. I'm not sure if that has to = be done as a permission or a config file. Secondly, once a file has been uploaded by an anonymous ftp users, I need = johndoe to be able to move and delete those files. For now, the default = permission is 644 which doesn't allow the user to delete or rename the = files. They can be copied, but not deleted. Again, this could be due to = bad permissions or to config files. I've ready through the ftpd man pages and haven't found anything that = "feels" right. Any and all help is greatly appreciated, and thank you in = advance. Sean; To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-security" in the body of the message
